Intestinal Knotting(1 case)

Abstract
Volvulus is one type of the intestinal obstruction and it is the result of the rotation of the redundant loop. And the intestinal knot is the intestinal obstruction due to entrapment between two twisted loops of intestines. Most common intestinal
knot
is the ileosigmoid knot, which is suggested with complication of the sigmoid volvulus. But some literatures were questioned the conception of that. Till now, most surgeons have been accepted that the ileosigmoid knotting is the complication of
the
sigmoid volvulus and resection of the sigmoid loop, with or without gangrenous changes, must be done. Now I report my experience of treatment of one case of ileosigmoid knotting with resection of gangrenous ileum and without resection of sigmoid
colon,
which is not infarcted. The patient has been well without symptom of recurrence.
